The Sorosis Beta Club had its first meeting of the club year on Sept. 20 at Peabody City Park.

Husbands were guests of the club members for a fried chicken picnic, with 22 in attendance.

President Arlene Moffett conducted a short business meeting. A 50th wedding anniversary gift was presented to Diane and Graeme Glaser. A get-well card was signed for Janie Hodges who had cataract surgery.

Members shared their summer activities for roll call.

The next meeting will be Oct. 18 at the Prescott House Bed and Breakfast.
