Sorosis Beta tours bed and breakfast

On Oct. 18, 10 members of the Sorosis Beta Club met at the Prescott House Bed and Breakfast. Owner Lynn Berns shared some history of the home and led club members on a tour.

Following the tour, Lea Schwart and Diane Glaser served refreshments.

Vice president Marilyn Cox presided over the business meeting in the absence of president Arlene Moffett. Members signed a card for Moffett, who had a pacemaker procedure.

Diane Glaser gave the devotional thought with a reading of two poems from Ideals magazine, “Autumn Blessings” and “Autumn Moments.”

Marilyn Cox won the door prize.

Norma Patton informed the group of the Peabody Community Foundation open house on Nov. 8 at Prescott House Bed and Breakfast.

Marilyn Cox and Carolyn Rowland will work on a display showing how our club has used past grant money received from the Foundation.

The November meeting will begin at the Flint Hills Gypsies at 6 p.m. and adjourn to Marilyn Cox’s for a catered dinner and meeting.
