Julia Campbell, respected and effective teacher in Marion Elementary School for the past 30 years, will retire this year with thanks and appreciation of the community for a wonderful service to youth extending through two generations.

Broadstreet’s Modern Studio soon will move from its location over Marion Pharmacy to fine new quarters being prepared in the Case building, former location of Jackson’s clothing store.

A seven-ton air conditioner was installed last week in Jackson’s new store. The cooler is of sufficient size, engineers say, to make the entire store comfortable. It is of the circulating water type that does not put moisture into the air.

Two impressive exercises marked graduation for five boys and three girls of Pilsen Grade School District 115. The graduates are Laverne Bina, Gemma Jirak, Frank Klenda, Robert Konarik, Robert Makovec, Lucille Rudolph, Marlene Steiner, and Ronald Stika.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Riffel of Lincolnville announce the engagement of their daughter, Marlys Sue, to John Wayne Gutsch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gutsch of Lincolnville.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Darrow are opening a new food store at Aulne this Friday and Saturday. The store will be in an old bank building there.
