NEW JAILINGS

Alma D. Avila, 58, Florence, arrested May 6 by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of domestic battery and disorderly conduct. Released Saturday after posting a $2,500 bond.

Kenceionna D.P. Franklin, 19, Wichita, arrested Sunday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of possessing marijuana, displaying a license plate not assigned, improper driving on a road with lanes, and driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked. Released Monday after posting a reduced $1,500 bond.

Ryan A. Hardey, 19, Marion, jailed May 6 for failing to appear in court. Held without bond. Previously jailed six times for a total of all or part of 311 days between Feb. 23, 2018, and Jan. 27, 2025. Previous jailings were on court orders, for failing to appear in court three times, for allegedly violating his probation 10 times, and on suspicion of theft by deception, vehicle burglary, battery, distributing stimulants, possessing drug paraphernalia and a stolen firearm, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a weapon.

Amaris D. Henry, 19, McPherson, arrested Friday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of aggravated child endangerment, possessing a hallucinogen and a controlled substance, transporting an open container of alcohol, and furnishing alcohol or beer to an underage person. Released Sunday after posting a $5,000 bond.

Dillon D. Lowe, 30, Hutchinson, jailed Thursday for failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of posting a $2,500 bond.

Aaron F. Riggs, 27, Wichita, arrested Saturday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia and transporting an open container of alcohol. Released two hours later after posting a $2,000 bond.

James R. Spohn, 27, Marion, arrested May 5 by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of possessing marijuana and failing to use a required anti-drinking ignition interlock. Released an hour later after posting a $2,500 bond. Previously jailed five times for a total of all or part of 63 days between Sept. 22, 2020, and Oct. 27, 2024. Previous jailings were on court orders twice and on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol twice, failing to stop at an accident, speeding, failing to have vehicle liability insurance, transporting an open container of alcohol, having a defective taillight, and possessing stimulants, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Chylynn N. Watts, 19, Marion, arrested Friday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of endangering a child and possessing a hallucinogen, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. Released Sunday after posting a $5,000 bond.

Bruce A. Whitenack, 44, Newton, jailed Friday for twice failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of posting a $50,000 bond. Previously jailed Sept. 29 to Jan. 23 for contempt of court and on suspicion of violating an order of protection and Aug. 24 to Sept. 28 on suspicion of aggravated battery.
