Dennis Laubhan
A memorial service for Dennis P. Laubhan, 80, who passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, was 10:30 a.m. May 8, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, 106 N Lincoln St., Hillsboro.
Born Aug. 7, 1945, at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro to Henry H. and Emma (Haas) Laubhan, he attended Hillsboro schools and graduated in 1963.
During his college years, he attended Bethany College in Lindsborg and graduated in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in music. He then went to East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and graduated in 1969 with a master’s degree in music.
Dennis taught music in Canton and Belleville for four years. He worked for Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. for 43 years and retired in 2015.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Pottberg, of Manhattan; 2 step children; a son-in-law; three step-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Neuenschwander of Hillsboro; sister-in-law Garnett Laubhan; nephew Murray Laubhan (and wife Rachel) of Pratt; nieces Emmie Buller (and husband Darcey) of Goessel; Gaye Funk (and husband David) of Hillsboro; Lori Hamm (and husband Myron) of Salpupa, Oklahoma; and Karen Laubhan of Augusta, and numerous grand nephews and nieces.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eldon and Loren, and nephews Marc Laubhan and Brad Neuenschwander.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Manhattan Municipal Band in care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan KS 6650
